It was more about the connection, the passion, the spark, the fire that kindled within our hearts, and from a distance you could hear the throbbing vibe that persistently resounded in our heads, then I knew he was the one for me, no matter how many times I told myself, otherwise. Somewhere in my heart  I didn't want to go through the divorce any more, this was for a life time, and I was quite thankful that the court session had been adjourned, I  still believed in miracles!

The bus had stopped, and as I stepped out, he placed his soft palm on my shoulder, then whispered-

"Nice Fragrance."

Our eyes met instantly, he leaned closer, my heart pounded faster, and he stretched forth his hands to open the door, smiling at me. Quickly, I got a grip of myself, and stepped out of the bus. I had so much to say, but my heart was floating in an immeasurable bliss of excitement and passion.

"Thank you." I said, calmly, trying not get carried away by his flirting.

"You're welcome, I think we should reconsider our decision, don't you think so?" He said. And for a moment, I was lost as I took time to process those words, Lawrence seemed to  have been reading my mind, and the coincidence for me was quite puzzling, then I realised I had left his hand hanging in quest for a hand shake, the very first after a long separation. Quickly I snapped out of my wondering thoughts.

"Oh! Maybe." I replied, as we finally shook hands, those hands were still as as sof as the very first time we met, and I thought they must have been customised. As we walked along the pathway, in the late hours we could feel the light showers of the rain, more like a relief for everyone because the season had been quite erratic, and no one was certain of the rainfall. Suddenly, the light showers turned to heavy rain drops. I panicked a bit, and hastened up, while Lawrence tried to catch up.

"Hey! Where are you headed for?" Lawrence asked, more like calling out.

"T-square West" I replied.

"Wow! That's a distance!" He said.

"Yeah!" I said, as I panted.

"I'm about picking up my car from the mechanics, I could give you a ride home, if you don't mind." Lawrence announced. Then I thought, not a bad idea, anything to get me closer home!

"Okay." I replied, and we headed his way. Minutes later, I was in Lawrence's car as he rode me home, I was actually enjoying the music 🎶 he was playing so I closed my eyes in full concentration, the song took me down memory lane, during our honeymoon, and how Lawrence would stage a surprise birthday party just for both of us, as I continued to bask in such  pleasurable memories, suddenly the car stopped, and quickly I opened my eyes to see what was going on. Lawrence was quite agitated as he stepped out of the car. He opened the bonnet, and began to work on the car, the rain had not stopped and it was close to midnight.

"Damn!" Lawrence exclaimed. Then I put my head out of the car window, slightly. I was quite curious for a while.

"Is there a problem?" I asked. Lawrence looked at me in dismay, and shook his head, amidst a heavy sigh.

"Looks like there is a major problem!" He exclaimed. I tried to remain calm, but something told me, I needed to be worried, I probed further.

"What seem to be the problem?"

"The car battery just knocked out." Lawrence replied.

"Wow! Looks like your mechanic played a fast one." I lamented.

"You're right. He has a lot to answer, meanwhile I need to take you safely home." Lawrence said.

"Hmmm... what's the point?" I exclaimed, as I was quite weighed down. Lawrence looked at me curiously.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"By the time I'm home, all the gates would have been locked, strict security measures." I replied.

"Em... don't you have some kind of identification to allow you through?" Lawrence probed further.

"Hmmm... You see.. I stay with a family friend, so....

"Oh! I get! I understand, now I see why you never bothered to even let me know where you were putting up." Lawrence interrupted.

"So? I guess I can host you for the night, if you don't mind?" Lawrence suggested again. I wasn't so sure if I should jump on the offer just immediately, so I had to give it a thought, for a while as Lawrence waited, his eyes said a lot. We had been separated for three years, and looked like our very first meeting at the court was beginning to have a toll on us.

"Okay, better than being lost in the middle of nowhere I guess." I replied and, we chuckled.

It was such a cold night, and thankfully Lawrence had the heater on. He had showed me my way around the house and gave me a room to stay. After my shower, Lawrence served me tea and peanut butter sandwich. As soon as I was done eating, we chatted for some time while he had music on.

"Looks like your love for music  has really taken a whole new dimension." I said, as we both listened.

"Hmmm....yes! especially Love Music!" Lawrence echoed. Those words rippled through my ears as my heart skipped a bit simultaneously. Lawrence fixed his eyes on mine, and smiled holding me by my hands, I did not resist, then he asked:

What about you? What's your preference now?

For some reasons I tried to find the perfect response, but words failed me, I guess I must have been carried away by the moment, I just stared back at Lawrence. Then he held me by my waist and placed his lips on mine without any warning, the fire in us was ignited and it was a fiery and intense moment that blazed out the entire episode. As Lawrence placed my back on the sofa, I realised that my loosely embroidery linen dress had dropped off my chest, exposing every part of me, Lawrence stared at my twin sets for a moment, and I could feel a rush in his veins as he couldn't wait to place his hands on them, he exhaled.

"Thankfully, you are still my wife, at least until the divorce goes through." He whispered in my ears, tickling me with his tongue, as he mounted pressure on my already wet slit, then I let out a moan, Lawrence was driving me steadily, and I was enjoying every bit, I cried for more, as we were arriving at the peak.

"Don't Stop! Lawrence! Don't stop!" I screamed in ecstasy, as the entire chemistry of my body responded. At this point, Lawrence, and I were caught up in cloud nine! We were not about to let go. "I have missed you?" Lawrence whispered, and I responded with a smile, I thought that was an understatement, I placed my hands on his broad shoulder, and stroke them gently, listening to every heart bit.

"I wish I could say the same but that would be undermining the reality... It's been empty without you." I confessed. Lawrence laid his head on mine, relishing the moment with a smile on his face,  and he sang along with the music that played at the background.

"So? How about we start all over, you and me walk down the aisle, and renew our commitment?" Lawrence said. I looked at him, and I could see that we both wanted Love again!

"Why? Are you sure?" I asked.

"Yes...I just realised that we can't keep living in denial, besides I have eyes only for you, and still do." Lawrence said, this time with a definite tone.Then I broke down in tears, gently Lawrence held my hands, and caressed my hair, running his hands through my scalp, he leaned closer.

"Baby, it's alright, I'm not leaving this time, we are together now, for good.
I looked at Lawrence, and took my time to cautiously say those words:

"I Love you... I really do!"

Then we(both) heaved a sigh of relief.

"Waky! Waky! Made you, your favourite meal!" Lawrence exclaimed as he woke me up with a kiss. I held on to him like a teddy bear

"Oh! Irish Potato porridge! Thanks, honey, you're the best " I responded with excitement, my phone rang in a bit, quickly I picked the call.

"Hello, Sheila! Where are you? We are all waiting at the court! You should be here by now." A voice said. I looked at Lawrence, and with a smile, he took over the phone, and responded to the caller.

"Hi, em...you will be getting an invitation to our vow renewal soon, sorry for the inconvenience. I'm afraid the entire divorce process is null and void now. This is Lawrence." Lawrence said, and ended the call, and we both laughed.  I finally got my miracle.🙂
